What is a Presentation Scan?
What is a Presentation Scan? This scan is useful information for your midwife or obstetrician whether you are giving birth naturally or by caesarean section.
Why would I need a Presentation Scan? It is also used to confirm the position of your placenta so as to avoid any possibility of Placenta Praevia.
When should I have a Presentation Scan? It is sometimes ordered by your midwife or obstetrician after your water has broken. We recommend combining this scan with a Group B Strep Screening at 36 weeks.
What happens during a Presentation Scan?
All scan details and images will be digitally transferred to our Fetal Database for analysis.
When will I receive the results of my Presentation Scan? A separate copy of your report will be forwarded to your midwife or obstetrician.
Anything else I should know about the Presentation Scan? Should a more comprehensive fetal check be required your appointment will be converted to a Welfare Scan where we will be able to calculate the Estimated Fetal Weight at the time of your scan which will be very close to the birth weight of your baby. We recommend combining this scan with a Group B Strep Screening.
