Emergency Gynaecological Scan |
|
This scan is most commonly done when you have consulted your doctor with concerns about pelvic pain, lower abdominal pain or unusual bleeding. First we scan you through your tummy (transabdominal) followed by an internal (transvaginal) scan. It is best to come with a full bladder so that we can look through the ‘window’ of the bladder at the pelvis. You will be asked to empty your bladder before the internal scan is done. Internal scans are invaluable in gynaecology because the womb and ovaries are most easily seen by this method. For bookings information and prices please see our Appointments page. |
